One of our final maths tasks for Term 2 was to enlarge some drawings. First we created some in our maths books and then we all helped create an enlargement of a piece of James Rizzi type art we have been doing. This required team work and checking in with other class members to see if our pictures were lining up and we were using the correct colours. We reflected on how well we did at the end and decided that we needed to keep referring back to the people who were working on the piece next to us and we should have communicated better about which colours to use and check we had the correct pastel before starting. Overall we thought we had created a pretty good enlargement!
Kia ora to our followers. We are a class of 25 Year 4/5 students (8-10 year olds). Our teacher is Mrs Keene. We welcome comments about what you have liked about our blog. Enjoy.

James Rizzi Art
I found these three cool art lessons of DeepSpaceSparkle website and decided this could be our final art project for the term. They are based on the work of the artist James Rizzi. The children are now studying Rizzi's artwork and need to create a piece of art for Agriculture Day that reflects some components that make it like James Rizzi's art. These pictures are so cool and all the children enjoyed creating them. Finlay and Jared were both away from school when we made these.
Literacy - Wanted Posters
The children of Room 5 had to create a Wanted poster for a villian in the novels they read this term. Here are some of their work.
Literacy Term 2
Literacy has been based on Novels this term. We have been reading lots of Roald Dahl books. We have also been looking at some Reading strategies we use such as prediction, prior knowledge, visualisation and inferring. Here are a couple of our reading activities we completed.
This first one is an activity on visualising.
